  1. What is the BOSU I've been hearing so much about and is it good for you?
Yes, the BOSU is great for your training as you can read in my article "Jump on it!" This article will help answer any questions or concerns you might have about using the BOSU and how you can jump on the BOSU bandwagon!

  2. Can I lose weight by exercising more but not changing my diet?
That is the question I hear most often, mainly because people don't want to change what they eat- they would prefer to take a pill or embark on some crazy diet. Increased exercise will boost your metabolic system and you will get results if you keep up the exercise program. But why stop there? If you really care about your health, there will be a day when you will also have to look at what you are putting into your body. The phrase 'you are what you eat' is true. You may see an individual that looks fantastic on the outside and want to emulate that person so you can receive those same results. Genetics plays a huge part in how we look on the outside and the health of our body on the inside. For people who have great difficulty in changing eating habits, I direct them to the Innerlight products which are on my website that alkalize and energize the body. By removing toxins from the body, the body will release the fat that is being stored to protect it from the acid build-up that is in the body. This is the easiest way to get amounts of vegetables in our body on a daily basis without having to eat them. You can drink them! For those who desire improved health, think of increasing your raw, green vegetable intake, juicing vegetables or taking the super greens by Innerlight which are sold on my website, click on products and order yours today!

  3. I'm considering liposuction on my stomach and thighs. Does it really work in the long term?
Liposuction has helped many people that I know personally. They are happier with their bodies and their self-esteem is improved. Although I am not a huge fan of this type of surgery, I have seen for myself how much it has helped others. Over the long term though, people do become unhappy as the only way to maintain their results is through continued diet and exercise. Often fat can be redistributed in the body causing areas that were never problems in the past to suddenly become problem areas. With exercise and proper diet, the ability to maintain what the surgery did, will be long lasting. Before jumping into this or any elective surgery, ask lots of questions and interview board certified surgeons who specialize in lipo-suction. Information is key to making the right decision.

  4. I gained so much weight with my last pregnancy. Is there anyway to ensure I won't gain as much this time?
I wish it were that easy! Eating right, exercise and drinking lots of water are extremely important in fending off excess weight gain during pregnancy. Eating for two does not mean eating like never before; it means you are eating for your self and your baby. At this time you'll really want to focus on healthy eating- not eating huge portions or having excessive indulgences. With this in mind you will most likely keep your weight gain within a healthy margin. I do confess I did exactly these things with each of my 4 pregnancies, and still gained a few pounds more with each consecutive pregnancy. The best thing to keep in mind is to exercise daily, provided you have your doctors' endorsement, and to eat 4-5 small, healthy meals a day, which will keep your cravings at bay. If you gain the weight slowly over the 9-month period, you will most likely lose it in 9 months post-pregnancy with exercise, and healthy eating!

  5. How important is stretching before and after a non-cardio workout?
Stretching is one of the key areas to fitness. Studies have shown that it's best to stretch 5-10 minutes after you are exercising, even if it is non-cardio workout. This gives the body a chance to warm up and get the blood and oxygen into the muscles, which will then enable the body to stretch more effectively. Holding each stretch for at least 20 seconds will give the muscle a chance to respond to the demands being placed on it. Also note that we all lose flexibility after the age of 25, so it's very important to think of stretching to improve your fitness just as much as you think of cardio or weight training.
