Rebecca (Becky) Cortez
Becky is a certified fitness professional, health and fitness consultant, television personality and sought after speaker and trainer. Her career in the fitness industry spans over 20 years.
While raising four sons Becky Cortez began her career in health and fitness was to keep up with her active family. Recognizing the fitness challenges facing new moms, Becky developed and started teaching pre and postnatal fitness classes in 1989. Scripps Hospital and Avia, a sportswear maker, they sponsored and helped Becky produce two television shows; “Fitness for Two-with Baby and You” and “Health Around Town”. These showes help educate San Diegans on a variety of health related topics with doctors and health care professionals as guests.
Becky founded Fitness for Health tm in 1989. Her ground breaking television show dedicated to helping prenatal women and mom'sdevelop a healthy lifestyle lead to the development of the popular and now sold out video “Complete Body Workout for Mom and Baby”. The company has since evolved into a worldwide distributor of fitness related programs, information, nutritional products and seminars designed to promote a healthy body and mind.
Becky is currently training some of QUALCOMM Inc. top executives and employees. Becky is also a consultant to Science Applications International Corporation (S.A.I.C.) and Scripps Health.
In addition to the numerous radio and television appearances and seminars around the country; Becky was the fitness expert for ABC in San Diego appearing on the weekend news with fitness tips during the time of 1998-2007.
Teaching and studying yoga is a life long passion that she embraces deeply for balance in life due to the busy schedule she maintains.
You can also find Becky at home in her studio with the state of the art STOTT Pilates V-2 Max reformers where she is kept busy training clients or working on her golf swing. When she is not at work; you can find Becky on the golf course with her husband or sons; or playing with one of her three grand children.
